Donor funded projects are commonplace in the developing world, for a number of years I have had the privilege of working with one of the best dairy development projects. For this series I will be discussing some of my activities with one of the most results-driven projects I know.
For privacy reasons I cannot disclose the name, location and certain identifying information regarding this project.
I believe that there are certain take home messages from the way in which this project was implemented, monitored and maintained that can help other similar projects succeed.
As you can imagine, the project involved people and cattle! In this series, I will be covering matters to do with importation of pregnant dairy heifers, training and monitoring of extension officers, training and monitoring of farmers, management of breeding and feeding.
I found many aspects of this project to be exciting and I hope you will enjoy reading about it as much as I am enjoying working on the project.
